Dark MAGA Project - Moderator Guidelines
1. General Principles for All Moderators
- Be Professional Yet Relaxed: Dark MAGA is a community-driven project that thrives on creativity and freedom. Keep things relaxed, but always maintain a respectful and professional attitude when dealing with users and situations.
- Promote Open Discussion: Encourage users to share ideas and discuss the project, but make sure the conversation stays relevant and on-topic.
- Freedom with Responsibility: Moderators should allow a degree of freedom in conversations but step in when there is misconduct or violations of the rules. We foster a chill, carefree atmosphere, but there are boundaries.
- Respect User Anonymity: Given the nature of the project, user privacy is critical. Do not reveal any private information, and remind users to protect their privacy.
2. Chain of Command
- Community Manager (CM MOD): Oversees the moderation team, sets high-level strategies, and ensures smooth communication between the mods and developers.
- Lead Moderator (LEAD MOD): Directs the moderation team, sets tasks, resolves disputes, and ensures proper actions are taken when necessary. Reports directly to the CM MOD.
- General Moderators (MODS): Responsible for day-to-day community management, ensuring that discussions stay productive and engaging.
3. Moderator Responsibilities
General Moderators (MODS)
- Maintain Order: Ensure the group stays focused on discussions related to the Dark MAGA project, but don't be overly strict. Allow some off-topic discussions as long as they don't derail the purpose.
- Misconduct Handling:
- Warnings First: Issue at least one polite warning to users engaging in minor infractions, such as excessive spam or minor trolling.
- Use /Report Feature (Rose Bot): If a user engages in more serious or repeated misconduct (hate speech, harassment, threats, etc.), use the /report command with the Rose bot. Only escalate to a ban if absolutely necessary.
- Bans: General Mods can ban users after a /report if the situation warrants it. Always document the situation and consult the Lead Mod if unsure.
- Offensive Content: Remove any posts that involve hate speech, illegal activities, doxxing, or anything that violates Telegram’s terms of service.
- Engagement: Keep the conversation lively by engaging with users, answering questions, and keeping the vibe positive. If the chat dies down, open questions, polls, or start a new discussion topic.
Lead Moderator (LEAD MOD)
- Dispute Resolution: If General Mods cannot handle a dispute or situation, it escalates to the Lead Mod. They will resolve it and communicate final decisions to the mod team.
- Team Guidance: Provide guidance and feedback to General Mods. Ensure they follow the rule set and maintain a healthy balance between leniency and control.
- Ban Approval: Approve any major bans or removal of high-profile users. If there is controversy around the user, consult the CM MOD.
- Voice Chats: Responsible for opening, closing, and moderating official voice chats. Open them for major announcements, casual discussions, or project Q&As. Moderators should ensure that VC sessions remain productive, without constant interruptions or misconduct.
Community Manager (CM MOD)
- Ultimate Oversight: Responsible for the overall moderation team, ensuring everything runs smoothly and reporting major issues directly to the project leads.
- Marketing & Strategy Meetings: Lead the voice chat sessions that are strategic, such as community AMAs or major project announcements.
- Serious Misconduct: Handle the final decision on serious user misconduct. Any situation that involves legal matters, significant breaches of rules, or potential damage to the community will be handled by the CM MOD.
- Promotions: Will manage the promotion and responsibilities of moderators, including nominating new Lead Mods or General Mods when necessary.
4. Specific Situations & How to Handle Them
- Warnings, Reports, and Bans:
- Minor Infractions: For minor infractions such as spam, off-topic rants, or small disagreements, issue one or two warnings. Use the /warn function if needed.
- Serious Offenses: For repeated violations or serious misconduct (harassment, discrimination, trolling, etc.), issue a warning and use the /report feature via Rose bot for documentation.
- Ban Protocol: General Mods should consult the Lead Mod or CM MOD before banning. Exceptions are made in cases of extreme misconduct (hate speech, illegal content).
- Documentation: Always document major incidents, including bans and serious warnings, for future reference.
5. Voice Chat Guidelines
- General Rules:
- Scheduled Sessions: Voice chats should be scheduled and opened for important community events, announcements, or casual discussions.
- Casual Chats: It’s okay to open informal voice chats for casual community engagement. However, ensure there's someone moderating and guiding the conversation.
- Lead Moderator Responsibility: The Lead Mod should handle the scheduling and moderation of voice chats, ensuring things stay civil and engaging.
- Open Voice Chats:
- Casual, community-building voice chats can be opened daily or weekly by any mod to encourage interaction.
- Keep Discussions Productive: If a chat becomes chaotic or derails, politely guide it back on track.
6. Expectations for All Moderators
- Active Engagement: Stay engaged in the group, participate in discussions, and keep the vibe positive.
- Diplomatic Tone: Always use a diplomatic and respectful tone, especially when dealing with sensitive matters. Avoid getting drawn into arguments.
- Open Communication: Feel free to discuss ideas with each other or escalate issues. Collaboration keeps the team strong.
- Stay Updated: Be aware of the project’s updates, changes, or any new features being added. That way, you can properly guide users and provide accurate information.
7. Miscellaneous
- Mod Meetings: Hold regular mod meetings to discuss any issues, share ideas, and foster teamwork.
- Feedback Mechanism: Create a channel for community feedback. All moderators should regularly check and address user feedback where applicable.
- Fun Factor: Keep it light! Don’t forget that the Dark MAGA community thrives on fun, creativity, and engagement. Always strive to make it a welcoming and exciting place.
